Starting Out
Given the current economic outlook, I've been fielding a larger volume of calls and e-mails about jobs. It can be difficult and frustrating when we can't find jobs in our field. The most common question I'm asked is about the typical catch-22: you need experience to get a job, but you need a job to get experience, so what do you do? It's a puzzling conundrum.
We'll explore 25 places in which you can gain experience - either as an entry-level employee or as an intern. I can't say enough about internships. For employers, it's almost as good as hiring another full-time, experienced employee. And for students and those just starting out, it's an excellent opportunity to learn about the field and gather that elusive experience.
What you might see as a great job from the outside might not be so fun once you're in it. Regardless, look at each job as a learning experience and an opportunity to grow.
