E. Wendell Hopewell, CFE, CPA, and Johnnie R. Bejarano, CFE, CPA, FCPA, CGFM, took their oaths of office as newly elected members of the Board of Regents during the board's semi-annual meeting Feb. 22-23 at ACFE World Headquarters in Austin, Texas.
Cynthia Cooper, CFE, CISA, was elected chairman and Joseph L. Ford, CFE, vice chairman. Blair was elected secretary; Hopewell, treasurer; and Bejarano, assistant treasurer.
The Board reviewed and discussed the membership growth of the ACFE. Membership surpassed 55,000 in mid-March. There are currently 138 chapters in 41 countries, and efforts are underway to develop additional chapters in Botswana, Jamaica, Brazil, Romania and Thailand.
The Board is very interested in promoting the ACFE to international bodies and offering more training in the global marketplace.
