Financial Audit Department — Gov't of Dubai and ACFE are fighting fraud together

During the recent 26th Annual ACFE Global Fraud Conference, the Financial Audit Department (FAD) - Government of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and the ACFE entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for FAD to host the inaugural 2016 ACFE Middle East Fraud Conference, Feb. 14-15 at Atlantis, The Palm Hotel in Dubai.

FAD has committed to sending at least 150 of its staff to the conference and is promoting it to other government agencies, corporations and special guests from additional countries in the region.

His Excellency Abdulla Mohammed Al Huraiz, Deputy Director General of FAD, says that "in its endeavor to enhance its practices, FAD sought collaboration with a professional anti-fraud organization that provides anti-fraud training and education."

ACFE’s authorized trainer for the United Arab Emirates and Qatar held a private onsite CFE Exam Review Course for the FAD last year. The FAD subsequently joined the ACFE’s Law Enforcement and Government Partnership.

Earlier this year, James D. Ratley, CFE, president and CEO of the ACFE, visited Dubai to present certificates to new CFEs at the FAD, which was the beginning of the cooperation relationship between FAD and ACFE, says His Excellency Al Huraiz.

"We are honored and pleased that the Financial Audit Department of Dubai has chosen the ACFE to supply anti-fraud training to its staff members," says Mr. Ratley. "We look forward to a long relationship with the FAD."
