ACFE Foundation awards scholarships in 27th year of Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship Program

The ACFE Foundation has awarded $54,000 to 23 students as part of the Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship Program for the 2021-2022 school year. In addition to the scholarship funds, each winner will receive a one-year ACFE student membership.

Scholarship recipients must have excelled academically in accounting, finance, business administration or criminal justice, and be actively pursuing a career in fraud examination or a similar anti-fraud profession. The committee judged the applications based on essay questions, recommendations and initiatives.

Students from across the U.S. and other parts of the globe participated in the ACFE Foundation’s 27th year in awarding Ritchie-Jennings scholarships. The ACFE chapters and members help underwrite the scholarships with donations. Royalties from books written by ACFE founder and Chairman Dr. Joseph T. Wells, CFE, CPA, also help fund the program.

“The scholarship committee was impressed with the level of excellence and achievement described in the scholarship essays,” says Bernard Rafferty, CFE, CPA, chair of the ACFE Scholarship Committee. “A diverse, accomplished, and dedicated group of students applied for the scholarships; the future of the profession is in good hands.”
