Did you know that if you’re a U.S. veteran or veteran’s spouse you can apply through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to be reimbursed for the cost of taking the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) Exam? That’s a savings of up to $250.
The CFE exam is approved for VA reimbursement under the provisions of Section 3689, Title 38, United States Code. Those eligible will receive reimbursement for their tests whether they pass or fail, according to the VA. However, eligibility varies and those interested should contact the VA at 1-800-827-1000 or visit www.gibill.va.gov/GI_Bill_Info/programs and select “licensing and certification” to learn more and to determine if you qualify.
Longtime member Regent Emeritus Robert J. DiPasquale, CFE, CPA, ACFE Fellow, of Cozumel, Mexico, formerly of Tenafly, N.J., died Sept. 4, 2009.
The Criminal Investigation Division of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS CI) recently recognized the Certified Fraud Examiner credential for hiring and promotional purposes as it joing the ACFE Law Enforcement Partnership.
The ACFE Foundation has awarded 30 college and university students with Ritchie-Jennings Scholarships worth $1,000 each for the 2009-2010 school year.
